Physical & Safety Testing

Testing performance.
Protecting people.

LASRA tests footwear, protective equipment, textiles, leather and flexible materials to determine how products perform under the conditions that matter — and helps interpret what the results mean in practice.

What does it need to withstand?

Clients do not always arrive with a clause number or a test method. Start with the product, its intended use and the performance question. LASRA can help identify an appropriate testing approach and, where applicable, the relevant standard.

Will it protect?

Impact, compression, penetration, cut resistance and other safety-related performance.

Will it grip?

Slip and surface interaction under defined test conditions.

Will it survive heat?

Heat, flame and thermal performance for materials and protective products.

Will it last?

Abrasion, flexing, fatigue, wear and durability testing.

Will it stay fit for use?

Water resistance, strength, dimensional stability and material performance.

Testing in action

Real products. Real performance questions.

LASRA's physical laboratory uses dedicated equipment and test rigs to examine materials, components and complete products. The images below are from our own laboratory work.

Independent testing

Accredited where applicable. Useful beyond the certificate.

LASRA operates an IANZ-accredited mechanical testing laboratory to ISO/IEC 17025, with accredited scope covering safety equipment, textiles, leather and leather products.

Testing is only part of the value. Our experience with footwear, leather and flexible materials helps clients interpret results, investigate failures and decide what to do next.

International methodsTesting to relevant ISO, EN, ASTM, AATCC and other recognised methods where appropriate.
Practical interpretationUnderstand not only whether something passed, but what the result means for the product.
Unusual enquiriesWhere no standard method neatly fits, talk to us about the performance question.

What are you testing — and what do you need to know?

Start with the product and the problem. Tell us what you are testing, how it will be used and what you need to establish. If you already know the relevant standard or specification, include it — but you do not need to know the test method before contacting us.

Not sure which test you need?

That is fine. Describe the product, its intended use and the performance question. We can help identify an appropriate testing approach.
